This week, I’m doing things a little bit differently. Today, I’m putting on my storyteller cap. I am telling you the story of how Pin Savvy Media came to be and why the rebrand had to happen. It is a story that I get asked about often, and that I love to think about and tell.

I hope this will encourage those of you interested in starting a Pinterest management business and inspire those of you wanting to be an entrepreneur.  If you have been here before you know we were called Virtually Nessa. We have actually done a rebrand.

My journey started in 2019. I was about to finish my degree the following and knowing myself, I knew I needed something to keep me busy. A side-hustle because of the way my brain works, I need to be productive.

I have always wanted to be my own boss and create something for myself. So, I went online and did my research until I found out about Pinterest management and I never looked back. I took courses and honestly for me it was pretty straightforward, especially with my marketing and public relations background.

I reached out to my friends who were bloggers and asked if I could assist that way I get the experience and learn what works while they get traffic for free. Honestly, it was a win-win situation.

I had two clients and I could feel I had an idea of what I was doing. So, I started Virtually Nessa and since I was working on my own with no team, I felt it was appropriate and personal. I felt the need to do everything on my own.

I created my website while working on my beta clients’ accounts. Of course, had some fears in the beginning. You know like will I make a mistake? Do I really know what I’m doing or is that my ego talking? I remained in a comfort zone for some time. I made some mistakes in my business but I learned from them.


This is the question, isn’t it? It’s simple actually, I created a strategy for my business, and for my long-term goals to be successfully achieved, I needed to rebrand my business. As a Pinterest Strategist, I’m always preaching to my clients you have to formulate a strategy that accommodates your long-term marketing goals. Kind of ironic I was not listening to my own advice.

So, I reached out to my friend who is a brand strategist. I told her what I was thinking and she worked with me. We needed to understand what I wanted for my brand not just change my color palette. I got a brand archetype, brand message, and a color palette to match my brand message. I really debated if I should do this rebrand but I needed to get out of my comfort zone.


With the rebrand, I knew I needed to add more people to my team. I took a different approach when adding people to my Pin Savvy team. When I began my journey, I was a freelancer and so I know from experience how hard it is for a freelancer. My team is made up of freelancers. I couldn’t find a Pinterest virtual assistant who could do everything my clients needed so I trained her and the system I used is what I offer in my Pinterest personalized coaching. Now she is a Pinterest manager who can build Pinterest strategies.

I decided to add a team because we were growing and doing everything on my own was stressful. And if in the process I can help a freelancer in the process well then I have achieved another woman with her goals. At this point, I decided I needed a business coach. She was amazing! She really helped me put everything in perspective.


My mom often jokes that I’m a dreamer and way too ambitious. Nothing wrong with a little ambition. I have so many plans for Pin Savvy Media but I will take them one step at a time. One dream I can share with you is one that played a huge factor in our rebrand. I want to build a community for my clients and our network. I am a perfectionist so I’m taking this slow and strategic. It will probably launch end of 2022. I just want it to be perfect and packed with so much for you. I’m nervous and excited at the same time about this new step that Pin Savvy is taking.
