There are many uncertainties with starting an online business. If you have an idea then I’m here to tell you just do it. We are human beings and we are bound to fear the unknown. Before I started my business this was something I struggled with but just to quote my favorite Disney movie,

“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”

Let’s talk about how you can launch your online business and how you will market it on Pinterest. This post will guide you from the beginning stage to the last stage.

This is an image detailing how to launch an online business in 2022 on Pinterest

Steps For Launching Your Online Business

STEP 1: WHAT WILL IT BE?

Obviously, you have an idea of what your online business is going to be about. You don’t have to niche down at this stage. From your idea, formulate a plan and that is what is known as a Business plan.

Creating a business plan is crucial to the success of your business. It will let you map out your business. If you don’t know how to create a business plan, there are templates available to help you with that. Make it short and sweet.

STEP 2: FIND A PROBLEM

By this, I mean knowing the problem you want to solve and who you want to solve it for. Knowing this will be essential in your Pinterest marketing strategy. How? By knowing the problem you want to solve, you know how to reach your ideal client. Pinterest is a search engine so, Pinterest users search for something specific.

Even without Pinterest Marketing, your online business should always solve a problem. Knowing who you serve is an added benefit.

STEP 3: MARKET RESEARCH

If you went to University then you know how Lecturers complicated this. Before I did it all I could think it was going to be so hard but it’s so simple.

All you need to do is find prospective customers and ask them what they think of your idea. For introverts like myself, this seems scary so I have a solution for you. Go read this blog post by Neil Patel.

STEP 4: CREATE YOUR SERVICES/ PRODUCT

By this step, you have identified the problem you want to solve and your market. Now it’s time to create your offer, product, or services.

How I did it by knowing I wanted to help entrepreneurs with their Pinterest and with my marketing experience as a Public Relations expert it was a no-brainer. I created my services with this knowledge. Of course, it’s good to give free advice on what you know and this is obviously how you build a trust factor with your audience. Have a paid offer for your audience. That is what a business is.

STEP 5: CREATE YOUR WEBSITE

A lot of people will tell you, in the beginning, that you don’t need a website. FALSE. I know this is controversial but if you want traffic to your business this is important. When you work with Pin Savvy Media for Pinterest Marketing, we require you have a website. Why? Because Pinterest will get you traffic but we need to drive that traffic to your website and we will know how to improve your marketing strategy using your Analytics.

There are different ways to build a website. You can hire a Web designer or use Squarespace, Wix, or WordPress.

STEP 6: MARKETING

You’ve started your online business now let’s do marketing. This includes social media and email marketing.

I recommend using Pinterest Marketing and email marketing. The reason I recommend Pinterest is because it’s an EVERGREEN sales funnel. With Pinterest you can drive traffic, leads, and email subscribers to your website without constantly being ‘present ‘ on your account. All you have to do is pin and go!

How do you do this?

  1. Set up and Optimize your Pinterest account- This will help your pins rank higher, keep your boards organized and Pinterest will recognize your account as legit. Building your account includes claiming your website and socials, adding relevant boards and pins, creating your profile, and keyword research. I actually offer Pinterest account setup services.
  2. Prepare your pins ahead of time. Before getting a Pinterest manager who designs pins for you, uses templates that can be found in Canva. Make sure they are on-brand.
  3. Have a strategy. First, know your goals. Is it for traffic? Do they lead to new leads? Brand awareness? Increase sales? Also establish when, where, what, and how to pin!

I know it seems like a lot but once you finish one step and get into a good groove, you won’t need to worry about much.
